We’ve secured €2.7M to build our pilot
We are excited to announce that we have raised €2.7 million in pre-seed funding, backed by leading Nordic and European investors byFounders, Norrsken Evolve, and Superangel, together with €0.7 million in grants.
This capital takes us from the lab to pilot deployment. In partnership with SwitcH2, a company specializing in offshore ammonia solutions, we are building our first centrifugal bubble-free electrolyzer system in the Port of Rotterdam. The pilot brings our lab-validated technology into real-world industrial conditions and marks a major milestone on the path to commercial scale.
The Technology
Conventional electrolyzers lose up to 30% of input energy because gas bubbles form on the electrodes and block active reaction sites. Our patent-pending architecture eliminates bubble formation entirely: gases route directly through our hydrophobic porous electrodes into dedicated dry gas channels.
The result is efficiency over 90%. This, plus several other technological advanes, dramatically lowers the levelized cost of hydrogen and makes green hydrogen cheaper than fossil alternatives for the first time, finally allowing the hydrogen economy to decarbonize profitably.
Hiring
To fuel this momentum, we are actively hiring Alkaline Electrolyzer Engineers and Rotating Equipment Engineers for our Rotterdam site. If you want to help scale breakthrough hydrogen technology, explore the roles and apply at spiralhydrogen.com/careers.
